Q. Is Fort Auto a certified driving school?

A. Yes,  Fort Auto is fully certified by the government to deliver the courses since 1976 in Fort McMurray.             

Q. Are Fort Auto certificates recognized by the insurance industry?

A. Fort Auto is a government approved course provider. Our graduate certificates are honoured by the insurance industry.

Q. How much does the course cost and what does it include?

A. The fee for our Driver's Education Course is $845 +Tax. This includes two days of classroom over the weekend and 10 hours of driving.             

Q. Can I get my license the same day I complete my course?

A. Yes, if you have your learner's permit for at least a year and you are 16 or older. Please book your road test with the registry and let us know so we can schedule your last lesson right before the test.

Q. Can I start driving part of the course before the class room?

A. Yes, driving portion can be done before the classroom.

Q. Can I request a female instructor?

A. Yes.

Q. Can you book my driving test in the registry?

A. No

Q. How much is the road test fee?

A. The Registry currently charges $83 for a class 5 basic road test.

Q. Are there any other charges?

A. No, 10 hours of driving and 15 hours of class room is included in the cost.

Q. How many lessons will I need?

A. It depends on your driving skills and experience, most of our students obtain their driver license on the day of their 5th lesson.

Q. Can I request to change my instructor?

A. Yes, please send us an e-mail or give us a call.

Q. Will there be other students in the car on my lesson?

A. No, lessons are taken on a one on one basis.

Q. What is your cancellation and re-booking Policy?

It is the student's responsibility to read and understand the cancellation policy. If you have questions please contact our office right away.

Driver's Ed classroom cancellation:

14 full days before your classroom            $100

Within 14 days of your classroom              $220

Re-booking of your classroom                   No charge

Driving lesson cancellation or re booking:

Less than 24Hrs                                         $75

Before 24Hrs                                             No charge
